Vintage Ruler Table and Chairs from Vivaterra

21309ruler1.jpegEver since reading about Martha’s craft room, we’ve had creative workspaces on the brain. (Lily's post about d. Sharp's studio only whet our appetite even more!) This table and chairs from Vivaterra, made from vintage rulers and yardsticks, seems like it would be perfect for a craft room (also for a kids’ room, perhaps). More info after the jump…

The table and chairs are evidently constructed from vintage advertising rulers, which Vivaterra claims are “one-of-a-kind” and “rare.”

If you’re not quite ready to invest in the ruler table, this rolled magazine storage case might also be cute in a craft room. We’re seeing products of this ilk a lot these days, but this one looks particularly well-made.

Vintage Ruler Table is $695 from Vivaterra, and the chairs are $325. The magazine storage case is on sale for $48.

Would be adorable for a craft room or kids' room, for sure.

Sadly, those are the places I'm least likely to want to spend $700 for a table and chairs :) But it was still fun to look at!

I like the idea, but the end result seems to be a bit "too much of a good thing".

These look cool, but are just rulers attached to IKEA furniture - with an extremely hefty markup. They'd be a very easy DIY. I'm not really seeing how this is "green" either, which is what Vivaterra purports to sell.

When I first saw the table and chairs I thought, WOW and it was love at first sight. Then I saw the price and wanted a divorce.

Sorry, the ruler table just doesn't measure up.
