apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Eyeclock by Mike Mak Design

3-3-09 eyeclock.jpgIt took us a second to get exactly how this qualified as a clock. Can you figure it out?

3-3-09 eyeclock 2.jpgThe "eyes" act as the radii of the clock, with the left one telling the hour and right the minute. It's not the easiest way to tell time, but we still dig it. What do you think of the Eyeclock?

er ... no. I like my clocks to have all twelve numerals on it. However, it would be fun to place this in a classic "clock-watching" location.

I find this cutesy stuff annoying, why would you want a clock that needs to be "figured out".

I agree with SunnyBlue- way too much brain power to tell the time, but as a teacher it would be funny to have it in my classroom :)

Does it have an alarm? How do you tell if it's am or pm? Does it roll its eyes when you hit the snooze button?

clever design but i agree that it's not very practical. how much, pray tell, would an eye clock set me back? can i pay for it in false eyelashes? what about if i threw in the glue?

It was not at all hard to figure out, seemed pretty obvious. BUT a little hard to know exact times, but if you need to know the time within 10 minutes it seems like a cute choice.

For sheer kitsch, I prefer the Kit-Kat clock.

Seaside, you beat me to it!

I think it's adorable. It would be cute in a pediatrician's office. Or a psychiatrist's.

Love it. Takes some of the stress out of looking at the clock.

I like it for the simple fact that after trying to figure out the time in the morning, I a) have to get up because I'm late to work after trying to figure out what time it was, or b) my eyes have adjusted themselves from trying to look at the time to the point where I can't go back to sleep.
