Rae Dunn Ceramics

11-5-08 dunn kitchen.jpgWe have to thank Shelterrific for cluing us in to Rae Dunn. You've probably seen her work before and been impressed (as we have) - it's been featured in all sorts of magazines and is stocked at stores all over the country. But little did we know that Dunn lives and works in the Bay Area, and has a beautiful kitchen that's got a style which blends seamlessly with her work...

11-5-08 dunn kitchen 2.jpgThough we're usually big fans of color, the white and gray palette of the kitchen feels crisp, clean... yet at the same time inviting. Perhaps it is Dunn's simple, wabi-sabi inspired ceramic wares that give the space its warmth.
You can check out her line on Etsy, including little plaques like this "home sweet home" version that we really love. 11-5-08 dunn plaque.jpg Find out more about Rae Dunn at her eponymous website, and see more kitchen photos at her blog.

Sparkle, I'm looking at that basket too! Anyone know where I can get something like that? I don't really care for the style, but I really need a piece that is at least double-decker and can hold a lot of fruit, like that. I'm willing to live with not-my-favorite-style in exchange for functionality.

Seriously! Here's a picture of the reason why. Keep in mind that this is about half of what we usually have in that corner. (Right now I have nashi, apples, pomegranates, sweet potatoes, squash, tomatoes and more, as well as the breads and rice cooker).

Ooh, yeah, ouch. :/

Thanks for trying though! And like I said, I'm not attached to the style, just the functionality.

Mrs.Mack, I googled "2 tier fruit" and found this for $15.

Thanks sparkle. :)

I'm not having trouble finding two or three tier fruit baskets as much as finding one that holds that much fruit.

Most of them will hold some in the biggest part, but very little in the top tier. I need one that holds a lot in the bottom and a good portion up top.

Guess my search will continue...
