Agnes Barley

Running with color. There are many ways of looking at Agnes Barley: as a minimalist abstract painter, as Arthur Miller's lover and wife until he died in 2005 (she's in her 30's), or as someone who "attempts to crystallize harmony, to distill form into careful constructs of line that reveal an internal structure and its absence..."

We love just looking at the shapes.

You can find her work at Jen Bekman Gallery as well as on the wall at Kate Spade's SoHo shop (Kate's a collector).

FYI: Barley and Miller reportedly never legalized their relationship, so the most you can say is that she was involved with him, but not married to him. The "marriage" was certainly not mentioned in his extensive NYTimes obituary.

Not my cuppatea.... Bcs she lived with one of the greatest writers of the 20th century, doesn't immediately make her a great artist. I find her work completely lame.

Je suis de France...l'art contemporain, moderne, les peintures ne demandent qu'a traverser l'atlantique.
Une artiste à découvrir ou serai ce la concordance avec A.Millers???
a savoir,
Amicalement,
Philippe
