A few years ago, Michelle and her husband, Justin, were looking for an older home that needed "light" renovations. They didn't want to undo someone else's work to make it their own. When they saw their current home for the first time they just "knew it was right since it had been maintained but never renovated." They renovated their house, which was then lacking in personality, and it's now filled with a colorful palette and design elements perfect for the couple. While not as small as most of our House Tours, this home is full of color, personality and inspiring ideas that anyone can draw upon.

Walking into their minimal dining room, seeing their great art, peeking into the kitchen we almost didn't care about the chairs anymore...

Moving from New York a few years ago, Jen wanted to carry her bohemian and eclectic design aesthetic to the desert landscape and style of her new home.

The couple took steps 2 years ago to redesign their space to showcase this scenic gem, create a true entertaining kitchen and provide extra storage for their family. Allison and Paul (who's a structural engineer) created a home that truly evokes the natural elements that surround them with a stylish flair that represents the couple's eclectic yet sophisticated taste.

Say the words "bachelor pad" and many imagine over the top lizard lounge decor, overly done masculine elements and an environment most decorated for show instead of actual living. This isn't the case with Scott's tastefully appointed self-proclaimed bachelor pad in the southern section of Silver Lake. At just under 600 square feet, Scott has been able to integrate his love for vintage MidCentury Modern seamlessly with contemporary pieces from scavenging from all around Los Angeles, with an optimal layout and handsome appeal (to woo or otherwise). Take a peek inside, but watch out for his protective feline friend, Kitty...she's watching you!

Oh, and did we mention a rescued dove and pigeon navigate and happily live with the household of photographer, illustrator and graphic designer who also call the textured and warm hued space a home?

We've loved Murchison-Hume products for a while now, not just because they are effective eco-friendly products but because they also look so darn good (and will be arriving from Australia onto Anthropologie shelves any day now). We were thrilled to discover the aesthetic of Murchison-Hume products also flowed through their creators home. This house tour reflects taste and refined style, yet is still entirely a family home. Incorporating an amazing indoor/outdoor room, family kitchen space and a wall of personal silhouettes, this house is all tied together seamlessly with a simple colour pallete.
